They Blocked Off The Road After Realizing What This Elephant Was Carrying With Its Trunk
A somber moment is captured in the heartbreaking video that user Parveen Kaswan posted on Twitter. People and cars block an empty road to help bereaved elephants, not as a protest.
In the video, an elephant can be seen approaching while delicately bearing a young elephant’s corpse in its trunk. The dead calf is placed on the other side of the road by the distraught elephant. More elephants come in, creating a somber circle around the young elephant that has passed away.
According to Kaswan, the elephant family is unable to part from the infant, resulting in a solemn “funeral procession.” The elephants eventually go on, but not before bearing the dead calf in a moving show of compassion and grief.
This heartwarming film provides an insight into the nuanced realm of animal emotions by highlighting the strong emotional bonds elephants have and their capacity to grieve for their offspring.
