The Tiny Home That Wouldn’t Leave

Jake had always wanted a home on wheels. Something simple, something free. So when he found the handcrafted cedar tiny house for sale, he didn’t hesitate.

“It’s fully functional,” the seller had said. “But just so you know… it likes to stay put.”

Jake laughed, assuming they meant it wasn’t the best for long hauls.

They didn’t mean that at all.

The First Trip

The first night in his new home was peaceful. He parked near a quiet lake, sat on the porch, and watched the sunset. He had never felt so free.

But when he woke up the next morning—

His tiny home wasn’t by the lake anymore.

It was back in the exact same place he had bought it.

The empty lot. The same tire tracks in the dirt.

Had he driven in his sleep?

He checked his keys—they were still hanging by the door. The gas tank was full. The mileage hadn’t changed.

He tried again.

He drove 200 miles west, stopping in a small town. He locked the door, set up a camera, and went to bed.

The next morning?

Back in the same place.

And this time, there were footprints around the house.

The Hidden Message

Determined to figure out what was happening, Jake searched the tiny home from top to bottom. He checked every floorboard, every cabinet.

That’s when he found the note.

Carved into the wood beneath the kitchen counter.

“You can take it anywhere. But it will always bring you home.”

The wood creaked.

The lights flickered.

And for the first time, Jake noticed something strange—

The house smelled of old pine.

Like a forest.

Like a place that had been here for far too long.

The Truth About the House

Jake drove one last time, desperate to escape.

But before dawn, the tires locked.

The house refused to move.

And in the reflection of the dark window—

Someone was standing inside.

Watching him.

Jake never tried to leave again.

And the next buyer?

They’ll think they own the house.

Until they realize—

The house owns them.
