Why a roll of toilet paper in your fridge might mean something

We all know the thousand and one ways to optimize space in our refrigerator, limit unpleasant odors, or react quickly in the event of a small food accident. But did you know that an everyday object, totally unexpected, can turn out to be a real ally in this small cold world? Yes, we’re talking about… a roll of toilet paper! It may seem funny, and yet, this surprising trick is making the rounds online, with arguments more relevant than you might think.

An ally against stubborn odors

Between well-aged cheese, pre-cut onions, and leftover casseroles, our refrigerator can sometimes resemble a  mixture of not-so-pleasant odors  . Of course, we already know the baking soda or coffee grounds trick. But here’s a new addition to the team: the toilet paper roll.

Why does it work? Simply because paper has a natural ability to absorb moisture and odors. Placed in a refrigerator compartment, it acts as a  discreet but effective odor absorber . The trick is to change it every week to keep its absorbent power intact. And of course, keep it in a  freezer bag or a clean airtight container  to avoid direct contact with food.
