17-year-old builds tiny home with $7,000, lives without debt at 20
With the rising cost of housing, tiny houses are quickly gaining popularity. Although that is one motivation, some simply like to live a simpler life, and so they are unleashing their inner carpenters.
The creativity with which people construct their micro dwellings is mind-boggling.
Who knew you could get so much done in such a cramped area? Home trailers, shipping containers, or even just lumber and nails can be used to construct these quaint dwellings.
The process of constructing his own tiny house taught a 20-year-old named Tom a great deal, and now he can show us around!
In Bristol, England, Tom began construction on his microhome when he was seventeen years old. He had a longer-term view than the typical adolescent and realized how expensive it is to acquire a house.
Tom preferred not to cope with the hassle of just making rent every month.
His grandparents owned a lovely plot of land, so he started constructing a small house there. Tom constructed his house on a trailer hitch to ensure it was both sturdy and easily transportable in the event that he wanted to relocate.
The fact that young Tom had aspirations of becoming a carpenter also played a role.
Initially, he was unprepared for the challenge, but he picked up a wealth of information as the project progressed. They learn a lot as they go along, which is typical for anyone working on a repair van or tiny house.
